Iranian documentaries to screen in Cambridge festival

“Pruning Season” by Loqman Khaledi and “A157” by Behruz Nuranipur have been selected for the official competition section of the festival.

“Pruning Season” narrates life of an Iranian man who tries to prove his claim of having produced a drug against cancer.

Nouranipour documentary ‘A157’ on Daesh atrocities has won several domestic and international awards, including the main award at Zeichen der Nach festival in Germany and at Chambéry festival in France.

The film also won two awards at the Italian event, Signes de Nuit International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, the best documentary award of the WATCH DOCS festival in Poland also went to Nooranipour's film.

The 73-minute ‘A157’ is a shocking documentary about the horrors of war and terrorism in Syria, particularly inflicted on women and children.
