Iranian wrestlers snatch 6 gold, 2 silver medals in Turkmenistan

In the weight category of 59 kg, Iran's Mohsen Hajipour defeated Uzbekistan and Indonesia and advanced to semi-final match.

During the semi-final stage, he defeated Turkmenistan 5-1 and entered final match.

Finally in final match he was overpowered by Kyrgyz rival and he snatched silver medal.

After defeating Jordan and Japan, Amin Souri in the weight category of 66 kg was overpowered by Kazakhstan and he received silver medal.

Meanwhile, Iranian wrestlers in the weight categories of 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 98kg and 130kg grabbed gold medals.

Iranian squad, including 214 athletes (115 male and 66 female), attended the event.

Iranian athletes participated in twenty fields namely, futsal, table tennis, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Sambo, Kurash, Jujutsu, bowling, billiards, cycling, track-and-field, swimming, weightlifting, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, Pahlavani wrestling, Alysh, basketball, taekwondo, horse-riding and chess.
