Morteza Mehrzad, known as the tallest man of Iran, has been selected by International Paralympics Committee as the Allianz Athlete of the Month for July for his brilliant role in the Iranian sitting volleyball team in 2018 World Championships in the Netherlands.
The Iranian team ranked first in the championships for the seventh time gaining the quota for 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games .
Since the beginning of year 2018, Mehrzad is the second Iranian athlete, following Sareh Javanmardi, who is winning the title.
Javanmardi was selected as the best athlete of May 2018 by the Committee for her outstanding performance at the 2018 World Shooting Para Sport Championships.
