A local resident told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that some 100 posts belonging to Afghan security forces have fallen to Taliban, with the members of the terrorist group focusing their attacks on governorate office and police command center.
The Taliban is using heavy arms in their attack on the Afghan forces, he told IRNA on condition of anonymity.
Most of the command center building is currently under Taliban control, and the conflict is going on at governorate office building.
He also said that it was likely that the police chief was out of the city as he was on a mission to another district close to Ghazni.
No comment has been made by Afghan officials on the issue yet.
Ghazni, 145 kilometers from the capital city Kabul, is a province that has been under control of Taliban in the past.
