Turkmenistan transfers 27 Iranian prisoners to Iran

'The prisoners had been imprisoned due to different charges and were released after finishing their sentences,' Commander of Dargaz Regiment Colonel Mohammad Reza Ali Mirzaie told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Deputy Governor General of Razavi Khorasan for political, security and social affairs Javad Hosseini had earlier said that 80 Iranian prisoners in Turkmenistan will be released soon.

Razavi Khorasan shares 531 km borders with Turkmenistan on north and northeast and has about 302 km common border with Afghanistan on east.
