EU to make sure Iran Deal will be fully implemented by all

Mogherini's comments were made in an address at the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Security and Sustainable Development in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. She also met Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the conference.

'I would like to focus in particular on three issues where we have achieved a lot, and where we see much room for greater progress,' Mogherini told the Conference.

She said that the European Union and Central Asia are partners for change, for development and for security.

Elaborating on the shared security interests of the European Union and Central Asia, the official referred to Iran nuclear deal as the first security interest the two regions share.

Underlining the need to preserve Iran deal as 'a major achievement of European and international multilateral diplomacy', Mogherini said that the accord is delivering.

Iran and the six world powers – the five permanent members of the United Nations and Germany – reached a landmark nuclear accord in July 2015 putting an end to 13 years of dispute over Iran's nuclear program.

US President Donald Trump, who criticized his predecessor for reaching what he called a bad deal with Iran, refused to recertify the deal last month.

This is while the other parties to the deal have said they will remain committed to their pledges under the deal as the UN nuclear watchdog has repeatedly confirmed Iran's full adherence to the accord.
