In the protest letter, the Iranian committee said the host country's move is against the Olympic charter and regulations.
National Olympic Committee of Iran called on the IOC to follow up the case.
Based on the Olympic charter, the countries which host sports competitions should have due cooperation without any discrimination with the participants to grant visa for them, the Iranian committee stressed.
The 2019 Manchester World Taekwondo Championships are being held in the UK on May 15-19.
About issuing visa for the athletes, IOC says '…. This is to ensure equal treatment for the participating athletes and sporting delegations, in accordance with the basic principles of autonomy and non-discrimination which govern the Olympic Movement.'
'Should this not be possible, or should there be any doubt, the IOC has made it clear that any country unable to guarantee these principles would exclude itself from the right to host international sporting events.
'The relevant international sports organizations should not allocate any international sports event to such a country until the issue is resolved and all the necessary guarantees are provided and implemented.'
