Appreciating the Iranian youths for shining in junior weightlifting competition in Tashkent, Rouhani congratulated the Iranian nation, athletes, coaches and directors of the national team on the great success and championship for the third consecutive time.
Iranian young mighty men brought joy to the Iranian nation through their high spirits and strong championship in World Weightlifting Competition in Uzbekistan, he said.
“I congratulate the sport-loving fellow countrymen on the success, the dear athletes in particular, and thank the coaches and directors of the National Weightlifting Team,” he said, wishing further success for the Iranian youth in other fields.
Meanwhile, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a message on Saturday congratulated the victory of the Iranian junior weightlifting team in the world competitions in Uzbekistan.
The 2018 IWF Junior World Championships began in Tashkent on July 6 and ended on Saturday.
Iran won 8,512 scores to take the first place.
Hossein Soltani won two silver and a bronze medals, Rasoul Motamedi a bronze medal, Amir Azizi a bronze medal and Ali Davoodi two gold and a silver medals.
Uzbekistan and Turkey stood second and third, respectively in the list. The US ranked fourth.
Iran had already been crowned champion in 2017 Tokyo competitions and 2016 Georgia contests.
