During the meeting, President Salih said that Iran is a Muslim country and a great neighbor of Iraq with 1,400 km of common border that Iraq has plenty of deep-seated backgrounds and relationships.
He said stability and security of Iran, Iraq and other countries in the region are tied together and this is the position of the Iraqi government that we emphasize on.
The Iraqi president and the Iranian ambassador also discussed the latest state of relations between the two countries and the developments in the region.
Masjedi also welcomed the Iraqi independent positions on regional issues and hailed the emphasis of the authorities on strengthening bilateral relations.
