The tournament, which began in Dubai, the UAE on Friday, came to an end today (Feb 17).

Some 837 athletes from 86 countries were present at the event.

France and Kazakhstan jointly ranked second with one gold, one silver and one bronze medals each one. Japan ranked third with a gold medal and another silver one.

The competitions are seen as a venue for karatekas to improve their points to qualify for 2020 Olympic Games.
