Iranian weightlifters bag 3 gold medals in int'l tournament

Mohammad Amin Alipour, Ali Makvandi and Ayyub Mousavi managed to rank first in the 77, 85 and 94 kilogram weight classes respectively. They bagged all gold medals in snatch, clean and jerk and total combined of their weight categories.

In the 69-kilogram weight class, a weight lifter from Georgia by lifting 130 kilograms in snatch, 170 kilograms in clean and jerk and a combined total of 300 kilograms stood first.

In the 77 kilogram class, a weightlifter from Syria with a combined total of 278 kilograms and a Nepalese athlete with 264 kilograms took the second and third places respectively.

T he international tournament which began on March 9 will end today.
