Iran runner-up in Japan Karate 1

Iranian karatekas bagged two gold, 1 silver, and three bronze medals.

Karate 1 was held with the attendance of 783 fighters from 67 countries on Nov 25-26.

Iran’s Amir Mahdizadeh in the weight category of -60 kg defeated rivals from Japan, Kazakhstan, Italy and also Pan American and received gold medal.

Saleh Abazari in the weight category of +84kg hit rivals from Hong Kong, Russia, The Netherlands, Japan and advanced the semi-final match.

In the semi-final stage, he defeated Japanese fighter and entered he final match.

In the final match, he overpowered his Brazilian rival and snatched a gold medal.

In -68 kg weight category, Sara Bahmanyar received a silver medal.

Iranian fighters Mobina Kaviani, Mahdi Qararizade and Hadi Arab in the weight categories of -68kg, -84kg and +84kg, respectively, grabbed bronze medals.
