Iran Kurash wrestlers bag 1 silver, 1 bronze

Qambar-Ali Qambari defeated athletes from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and was then defeated by the other Uzbek athlete to finish second.

Behzad Vahdani defeated athletes from Uzbekistan and South Korea and lost the match to the Kazakh athlete and won the bronze medal.

Kurash that is attracting millions of people round the world has its long rooted history. As researchers and historians say and according to archeological investigations, Kurash originated at least 2500-3000 years ago.

It can be proved by rare finds, pictures drawn on rocks in several regions of Uzbekistan including Zarafshon, Surkhon and Fergana, according to Asian Kurash Conferation website.
