Iran in Group D of AFC Asian Cup

Matches in Group D will take place in January 2019. The group consists of Iran, Iraq, Vietnam, and Yemen. The top two teams, possibly along with the third-place team (if they are ranked as one of the best four), will advance to the next round. The group contains two former champions, Iran (3 times) and Iraq (1 time – 2007).

The draw ceremony was held in Burj Khalifa, Dubai on Friday.

Iran's legendary football player Ali Daei attended the ceremony.

Iranian national football team won AFC Asian Cup in 1968,1972 and 1976.
