
Iran’s global chess performance has increased considerably in recent years and currently some of our men and women players have international titles, said Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh in the election meeting on Tuesday held to select the head of the chess committee of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, southwestern Iran.
He said that some 30,000 chess players, 3,000 referees, and 3,000 coaches are active in the country’s chess.
Attracting sponsors and launching training courses for the people interested in were among other topics discussed during the meeting, he said.
