Massoud Shojaei told a press conference prior to facing Oman in the knockout stage of Asian Cup, 'As for us, success is beyond a victory for the football team, it's also worth a lot for Iranian people.'
“Many times the sport is effective for the people, and the success of the national team will make them happy for a long time,” the experienced player noted in response to the Omani reporter's question whether the Iranian team could win tomorrow.
He stressed, 'We have great respect for the Omani national team. Past games with this opponent clearly show that they were not easy to confront them. We have analyzed the opponent and are ready to go to cope with the squad.”
He added, 'We have come to the UAE to play in seven finals in which four finals are still left. We have to go through tomorrow with all the focus and each team tries more will succeed.”
