Zarif: Terrorists afraid of Muslims' close ties

'Strongly condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pakistan, just as PM @ImranKhanPTI embarks on his first, historic visit to Iran,' Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote on his Twitter account.

He added 'Terrorists, extremists & their sponsors are terrified by close relations between Muslim states.'

'Iran stands with the people & govt. of Pakistan,' he reiterated.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi on Friday strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack in southwestern Pakistan which resulted in death of 14 security forces.

Expressing solidarity with the Pakistani people and government, he said that terrorism is an evil phenomenon which will not be eliminated except through all-out cooperation of the countries which have fallen victim to it.

Gunmen killed 14 people after ambushing a passenger bus in southwestern Pakistan, local authorities said, independent reported.

Around 35 people are thought to have been travelling from Karachi to Gwadar when armed men stopped the vehicle, checked the identities of those on board and then began shooting people selectively.

Pakistani Prime minister Imran Khan condemned the attack, calling it “an act of terror”.
