Zarif: Iran set to boost ties with Iraq

In a meeting with former Iraqi prime minister Ayad Aalvi and former parliament speaker Salim Al-Jabouri, he reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Iraqi nation and government in the country’s reconstruction.

Zarif, who is currently in Baghdad at the head of high-ranking delegation in Iraq, also stressed the need for maintaining brotherhood and friendship among all ethnic groups.

Alavi, for his part, hailed Zarif’s role in promoting global peace, saying, “You, Mr. Zarif played a crucial role in promoting global peace.”

He also hailed Iran’s diplomatic efforts in the international scene, saying that it can give promising news to the region and world.

Zarif, heading a politico-economic delegation, is currently in Baghdad for talks with the neighboring state’s officials.
