Iranian foreign minister, who is on a tour of Asian countries, is to confer with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on regional and global issues this afternoon.
In the first leg of his trip, Zarif visited Japan, Turkmenistan and India and conferred with the country's top officials.
Zarif arrived in Beijing from Tokyo where he had his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono and called for enhanced cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo.
The two sides referred to the Iranian and Japanese historical and cultural commonalities, stressing the need to hold regular consultations between officials of the two Asian friendly states.
The Iranian and Japanese foreign ministers also reviewed the latest regional and international developments.
Iranian nuclear deal, known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the US disloyalties were among topics discussed between the two foreign ministers.
Zarif explained Iran's stance regarding the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal in May 2018 and Iran's measures to safeguard its rights enshrined by the JCPOA.
