US problem with Iran not nuclear-related: Hezbollah chief

The problem of the US is that Iran was an essential factor in bringing down the Saudi-US scheme in the region, the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Movement Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said while delivering a speech to a ceremony held in al-Ain town in North Bekaa region to commemorate two martyred commanders of the resistance movement.

He noted that Americans want to take revenge from those who caused their defeat.

Hezbollah-affiliated al-Manar TV quoted Nasrallah as saying that the US does not want annihilation of Daesh (ISIS) Takfiri group and for the same reason Washington is providing Takfiri terrorists with assistance through its bases in Syria.

The hands of aggressors to Lebanon will be cut off and the conspirators are doomed to failure, the Hezbollah secretary-general said.

Nasrallah added that the US policy and sanctions won’t change our position.

He said that the US didn’t want the battle against Daesh in the Lebanese outskirts and pressured the Lebanese government and army and even stopped its aid for the army for a period of time.

The US is trying to prevent and delay the battle with Daesh and only helps when its allies control liberated areas, Hezbollah chief noted.

He said that Daesh’s strategy is to extend its existence, hoping to launch new battles against liberated villages.

'They are a cancerous tumor that must be removed,' Nasrallah added.

He said that the resistance axis is much stronger nowadays, noting Hezbollah role in establishment of peace and stability in the region.
