In an interview with IRNA, Javed Siddiq resident editor of daily ‘Nawa-i-Waqt’ said Iran-US tensions are very unfortunate.
The expert added the US is putting lot of pressure on Iran in connection with the nuclear deal the JCPOA.
“US unilaterally left the deal, it walked out of the deal without any justification but the EU countries and China and Russia remained in the deal as they wanted the agreement to remain intact,” he said.
He went on to say later the US put sanctions on Iran which is not good for the regional stability and this is also causing huge impact on the oil prices.
Javed Siddiq said that rift among the Islamic countries is also creating tension in the region. “This is not good for the stability of all the regional states,” he warned.
The analyst expressing his views added the US President has said that the US doesn’t war with Iran and Iranian President on the other hand also ruled out possibility of war with Iran but what steps the US is taking in the Persian Gulf region are alarming and causing tensions in the area.
“This is very unfortunate, I think all countries of the region must sit together and put an end to this tension which is not good for any regional states,” viewed the senior journalist.
He said that Pakistan has opposed any kind of attack on Iran. “Pakistan foreign ministry spokesperson has urged upon all the regional countries to solve their disputes through dialogue by peaceful means and I think this is a very reasonable policy,” said the expert.
