“[US] Energy Secretary Rick Perry’s mission to Iraq this week may have been undermined by a delegation of Iranian advisers that met with members of the Iraqi leadership just days before his visit,” wrote Washington Examiner.
Perry traveled to Baghdad on December 11 to take part in a conference organized by the US Chamber of Commerce to show readiness to invest in Iraq’s energy sector, when the Iraqi Ministry of Energy Luay Al-Khatteeb had met the Iranian delegation two days earlier on December 9.
Al-Khatteeb talked with Iran on the prospects for joint cooperation in the field of energy, as he posted on his Twitter and Facebook account.
