US cannot exert pressure on Iran: IRGC commander

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami as well as a number of his deputies on Saturday.

Describing Iran’s armed forces as an intertwined chain, Salami said that developing a common understanding about technical realities and operational requirements will help pursue priorities in the best manner.

“Current juncture is the season of building up power and we should try to tip the balance in our favor through finding strategies determining radius of impact,” he said.

Salami also hailed achievements of Defense Ministry as the symbol of self-reliance against the enemy, saying that despite sanctions, the country has achieved more breakthroughs in the defense sector.

Brigadier General Hatami, for his part, wished Major General Salami more success in his new post, saying that the ministry will support IRGC more and better than before.

Defense Ministry has integrated plans on agenda to meet the needs, he said, noting that research undertaken by the ministry last year yielded two times more than previous years.
