Nikolay Mladenov, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, on Thursday in a Security Council meeting that was convened on Palestine warned that 'Old wounds continue to bleed and deepen as we speak.'
Israeli regime's raids on Palestinians have been escalated following the massive protests by Palestinians against the occupation of their lands by the regime.
Forty-one Palestinians have been killed since March 30. The massive demonstrations have been titled “The Great March of Return” of refugees to their homes that are currently under occupation of the Zionist regime.
The combination of the security, development and humanitarian deterioration, coupled with the political impasse, makes Gaza “a powder keg,” the UN news website qouted Mladenov as saying.
He also called for action to prevent another war in Gaza that has been hit by the Zionist regime of Israel in 2014. The attack claimed some 2,200 Palestinian lives.
“People should not be destined to spend their lives surrounded by borders they are forbidden to cross, or waters they are forbidden to navigate,” the official said.
