UN praises Iran role in fighting organized crime

Iran is a fully effective country in the global fight against drug trafficking and organized crimes, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna Yury Fedotov said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Kazem Gharib-Abadi, the new ambassador and Permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to offices of the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna, Austria.

Fedotov called for development of cooperation between Iran and the UN in all fields.

During the meeting, Gharib-Abadi, for his part, welcomed development of cooperation between Tehran and the UN office.

He also criticized the unilateralism in the world and urged multilateralism in international relations.

During the meeting, Gharib-Abadi submitted his credentials to Fedotov.
