
The Secretary-General has repeatedly said that the adoption of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was a very important breakthrough to consolidate nuclear non-proliferation and advance global peace and security, UN News Center quoted UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric as saying on Friday.
'UN chief strongly hopes that it will remain in place,' Dujarric added.
US President Donald Trump on Friday took a new strategy towards Iran and did not certify Tehran's commitment with the 2015 landmark nuclear deal or JCPOA.
Trump's approach has been criticized by many countries, international bodies, political communities and world media.
