
Mostafa Kawakebian who is in Zimbabwe at the head of an Iranian parliamentary delegation made the statements in a meeting with Zimbabwe-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Pardazar on Wednesday.
He said that parliamentary diplomacy is one of the most significant ways for promoting bilateral ties, noting that parliamentary friendship groups in both countries’ parliaments can remove obstacles in the way of mutual cooperation.
Appreciating Zimbabwe’s stance on Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy, Tehran MP said that closer stances of the two countries in regional and international developments such as the issue of Palestine can lead to making common decisions in the international organizations.
Pardazar, for his part, hailed Iran as a strong and influential country in the region and the world, saying that the Zimbabwean nation and government will never forget Iran’s supports in removing discrimination and assisting oppressed people across the world, Zimbabwean nation in particular.
He also said that using peaceful nuclear energy is Iran’s indisputable right and Zimbabwe strongly supports the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an international accord.
