Tehran gets new governor general

Moqimi was born in Khomein in 1950. He was graduated from University of Shiraz in mechanical engineering with master's degree in 1977.

Earlier, Moqimi served as deputy minister of mines and metals, managing director of Steel Company.

Other positions held previously by him include governor general of Khuzestan, Kermanshah and Markazi provinces, deputy interior minister for developmental affairs and first deputy of interior minister from 2016-2017.
