In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, he referred to the increase in US military presence in Syria, adding that Washington, using the 'Syrian Democratic Forces' (Syrian Kurds), seeks to maintain and expand its presence in the region.

He said the presence of US troops in the Euphrates area in Syria is for oil and water resources and is therefore aimed at increasing its military presence in the Kurdish region.

Syria's military expert added that Washington wants to provoke Turkey, Iraq and Iran in the region on the pretext of supporting the Kurds in the Middle East so that it can use the disputes for its own interests.
