'Recurrence of the ungrounded claims made in Sunday Riyadh meeting cannot reduce the human and international responsibilty of those people who have committed horrible crimes of killing people and destroying schools and hospitals in Yemen,' spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi said on Monday.
'From the outset of Saudi aggression against Yemenis, Iran has condemned the move and called for bringing a halt to the Yemeni war,' the spokesman said, stressing that Tehran is against any military solution to the Yemen problem.
'Iran will spare no effort to stop this disgusting bloody war,' Qasemi said, urging the participating states in the Riyadh meeting not to continue their mistakes and apologize to the Yemeni people in order to prepare the ground for stopping war and starting talks between the Yemeni groups.
He further noted that the problems in Yemen will be solved only by putting an end to the war there, dispatching humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people and holding talks between all Yemeni groups.
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, during a meeting held in Riyadh on Sunday with participation of members of Arab coalition, unfoundedly claimed that Iran blocks peace efforts in Yemen.
This is while Saudi Arabia with the help of nine other Arab countries, except Oman, has been mounting massive attacks on Yemen since March 26, 2015, to give power back to the resigned Yemeni president and prevent the Yemeni revolutionary forces from taking power.
Since then, thousands of Yemenis, mostly women and children and old people, have been killed by Riyadh fatal attacks against the country.
