Russian official: Europe new stance puts JCPOA at risk

Under the influence of US President Donald Trump, the UK, France and Germany have changed their position on Iran and made new demands, first of all, on Iran missile program, Aleksey Pushkov said in a Twitter message written in Russian language.

This jeopardizes the entire 'nuclear deal' with Iran and will create a new crisis in the Middle East, he added.

According to Russian median, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, France President Emmanuel Macron and the UK Prime Minister Theresa May announced that they tend to discuss limitations on Iran nuclear deal.

The US administration has done a great deal during past year to kill Iran nuclear deal.

Trump is expected to announce his decision on whether or not to stay in the JCPOA on May 12.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has already confirmed ten times Iran's commitment to the landmark July 2015 international deal.

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani earlier said that withdrawing from the NPT has been predicted in the treaty and the Islamic Republic of Iran will withdraw from the treaty if the other side scraps the nuclear deal.

When international agreements turn out to be impractical due to illegal acts of some countries, there will be no reason to remain committed to such international pledges by other countries, he said.

In NPT, member-countries are authorized to withdraw from the treaty in case their interests are threatened, he added.
