Russian deputy FM declares support for Iran nuclear deal

Sergei Ryabkov in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Mahdi Sanaei said that Moscow's stance on Iran's nuclear deal, known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is unchangeable.

The Russian official expressed support for saving the Iran nuclear deal.

During the meeting, Ryabcov and Sanaei discussed the decisions which have been taken to save the JCPOA.

US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.

This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
