According to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website, he said that his country regards US withdrawal from the international accord as a mistake which dealt a blow to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

The mechanism aims to help continue trade with Iran in defiance of the US unilateral sanctions.
