Rouhani, Putin discuss regional developments over phone

During the telephone conversation, President Rouhani said the implementation of various projects help bolster relations and cooperation between the two countries.

On regional developments, President Rouhani said Iran attaches importance to territorial integrity of all countries in the region and opposes any change in their border lines.

Referring to the upcoming visit of Iranian, Russian and Azeri presidents in Tehran, President Rouhani said we attach importance to the expansion of trilateral relations between these countries and in the upcoming meeting their issues will be focussed on.

On Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia have a adopted a serious stance and believe that the world is now looking into Astana talks and constructive cooperation between Iran and Russia in Syria, Rouhani said.

Respecting territorial integrities of all countries and no change in their borderlines are very important for Iran, Rouhani said, adding that Iran is ready to continue cooperation for the next meeting in Astana.

Referring to the current developments in Iraq, he said Iran attaches importance to the security and territorial integrity of Iraq as well as the county's national unity.

Russian president, for his part said Moscow is determined to broaden all out ties with Tehran and help accelerate implementation of projects to help broaden relations between the two countries.

In the upcoming meeting between Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan, the three countries vow to broaden cooperation in various fields, Putin said.

Cooperation with Turkey on Syria will be continued to help bring calmness to the country and eradicate terrorism, Putin said.

Russia backs Iraq's territorial integrity, Putin said.
