Putin: Russia, Iran, Turkey will take more coordinated steps on Syria

He added at the end of the Ankara meeting that starting dialogues for release of hostages, transport of bodies of victims and search for those missing are among the steps to be taken by the trio.

Putin also underlined significance of the statement issued by the three countries on Syria in support of the country’s sovereignty and unity at a time when efforts are underway to boost coordination on Syria.

The document has underscored Iran, Russia and Turkey’s firm determination for cooperation in line with strengthening Syrian sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, he said.

The Russian president also said that the three countries have a special attention to reconstruction of Syria after the end of war, noting that his country is keen on participating in the country’s infrastructural projects.

“We have agreed to beef up efforts in line with Syrian reconstruction after the conflict,” he said.

He also called on all countries to show reaction not in words alone but in practice too, complaining that no other countries except Iran, Russia and Turkey are playing role in sending humanitarian aid to the war-torn state.

At the end, Putin described his trip to Ankara and participation in the trilateral meeting on Syria as successful, effective and fruitful.
