People have empowered Iran and it is now a powerful country of the region, Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a local ceremony.

He referred to certain regional states including Saudi Arabia's reliance on foreign support and noted that the prospect for the Iranian nation is brilliant because foreigners are not source of its power.

Zarif said that the Iranian administration attaches importance to human rights issues because the people are a backing for the national security.
