Pakistan thanks Iran, friendly countries for condemning terrorist attacks

'We are thankful to brotherly and friendly countries for condemning these attacks and offering condolences to the Pakistani nation,' Muhammad Faisal said in his opening remarks at weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.

“The Pakistan nation stands resolute in the face of such criminal acts and it committed to ensure the holding of free fair elections for smooth political transition,” Faisal said.

He went on to say that terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Provinces last week have left the entire nation in deep mourning.

Earlier Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi in a message had expressed solidarity with the families of terror attack victims. Condemning the attacks, Qasemi sympathized with the Pakistani people and government.

The suicide attack in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan’s Mastung area which claimed lives of more than 150 people, including a political party leader, was the deadliest attacks in the history of Pakistan.
