According to a statement released by Pakistan Navy spokesperson, the rescue operation was carried out some 186 kilometers off the Ormara coast.

The statement said upon receipt of information about distressed boat, Pakistan Navy promptly responded and launched rescue with Sea King helicopters.

Pakistan Navy also provided medical treatment to the ailing Iranian sailors. The Iranian fishermen thanked Pakistan Navy for its prompt rescue operation.

Earlier on June 9, Pakistan Navy had successfully rescued 11 crew members of a sunken Iranian boat in the open sea.

Pakistan and Iran are two brotherly neighboring countries which have enjoyed good relations throughout their history. Navies of both countries have always contributed to the good relations between the two neighbors.

Navy ships from both sides regularly visit each other’s ports. In the month of April 2018, Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also visited Tehran to attend 6th IONS.
