Pakistan fully supports JCPOA: Pak minister

“The JCPOA represents a good example of negotiated settlement of complex issues through dialogue and diplomacy,” she said.

She was speaking as a chief guest at a ceremony in Islamabad to mark the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The minister congratulated Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and people of Iran on behalf of the President Arif Alivi and Prime Minister Imran Khan on the 40th anniversary of the glorious victory of Islamic Revolution.

“It is my profound pleasure to join you all to celebrate the 40th anniversary of glorious Islamic Revolution,” she said.

She added that Iran and Pakistan share seven decades of friendship which has grown stronger over the years. The minister said both Tehran and Islamabad understand and appreciate each others’ position on different regional and international issues.

Fahmida Mirza noted that Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the Islamic Revolution.

The official said both countries have supported each other at critical moments of the history. “We both are linked by common culture, language, history and religion,” she said.

“The rich heritage of the two nations is the biggest asset of friendship and mutual respect between the two countries,” said the minister.

She added that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) desires to enhance its relations with Iran in every possible manner. “Our leadership endeavors to further consolidate and strengthen the bilateral ties in all fields,” she said.

Mirza said as members of the ECO, Iran and Pakistan are closely working together towards greater integration of the ECO region.

She said during her tenure as Speaker of National Assembly the relations between the parliaments of both Iran and Pakistan got strengthened.

The minister went on to say: we greatly value Iran’s consistent support on various issues particularly Supreme Leader’s stance on Kashmir issue.
