Norway stresses saving JCPOA

Saving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and implementing the EU package of proposal can help development of trade ties between the two countries' private sectors, Nordrum said on Tuesday.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Head of Majlis (the Iranian Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahat-Pisheh.

The Norwegian companies are ready for cooperation with Iran in various fields, including agriculture, energy and transit.

During the meeting, Falahat-Pisheh, for his part, pointed to the role of the JCPOA in the European countries' security, and said they should try to save the JCPOA.

Commenting on talks with the US, the MP said that Tehran has no trust in Washington.

'Iran will continue fighting terrorism in order to restore stability to the region,' Falahat-Pisheh added.

He described Iran-Norway relations as satisfactory despite machinations by the US.

The lawmaker called for joint investment and cooperation by Iran and Norway in the fields of energy, banking and agriculture.

During his meeting with Italy's prime minister, US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington is ready to usher in talks with Tehran without setting any preconditions.
