
Boroujerdi made the remarks after an extraordinary meeting of the national security and foreign policy commission with Foreign Ministry officials to consider the situation in Myanmar.
'Iran's ambassador to Thailand visited Myanmar and has expressed Iran's concern to the government and has underlined the need to halt mistreatment of Muslims,' Boroujerdi said.
He pointed to the visit of Foreign Ministry officials to Myanmar to submit donations to Rohingya Muslims, and said that Hajar Chenarani, as representative of the commission, to accompany the delegation to consider the situation of the female refugees there.
'We are waiting for parliament speaker's approval to dispatch of a delegation comprising of Iranian lawmakers to Myanmar to study the situation in Rakhine province of that country,' Boroujerdi added.
