Lebanese scholar hails Iran's foreign policy

'Iranians have learned through experience that one should never show any weakness before the US, in as much as any retreat equals further political attacks on Tehran,' Professor of International Affairs in the Lebanese University in Beirut Leila Nicolas told IRNA.

Professor Nicolas said that international equations necessitate using power along with soft diplomacy and intention for cooperation.

'This policy works for US companies and economic lobbies that are closely observing European companies investing in Iran; these companies can pressure US President Donald Trump and stop any decision that are not in line with US interests,' she added.

Commenting on the Iranian missile program and Iran Nuclear Deal, she said, 'The JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) makes a distinction between the nuclear deal and the missile program, and makes no reference to missile program halt.'

Professor Nicolas added that trump wants to force the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to make inspection visits to Iran's missile centers, using sanctions on Iran during former US President Barack Obama.

She also referred to the fact that the UNSC has confirmed the deal, which makes it very difficult for Trump to cancel it.

Nicolas also said that no one can escape the fact that should any of the sides of deal quit it, they have to leave the Iranian market. Iran's deal with the Boeing was an ingenious decision making the US companies react against any US' negatively affecting the JCPOA.
