Kerry: Trump unable to govern America

'…[W]hen you tweet chastising the attorney general of the United States for following the law and doing what the Justice Department is supposed to do, by holding Republican congressmen as accountable as anybody else and indicting them, and the president puts it in the context of affecting the elections, you've got a president who clearly doesn't understand America, doesn't understand the Constitution, doesn't understand the role for the Justice Department, the separation for powers, and that's dangerous,' Kerry told CNN.

Kerry also referenced excerpts from veteran journalist Bob Woodward's upcoming book, 'Fear: Trump in the White House,' pointing to the accounts detailed in the book as evidence of Trump's shortcomings in being able to lead the US.

'I think it’s more than [he] doesn’t seem capable,' Kerry said. 'We have had confirmed now for more than a year, and a half, examples, some by virtue of people who write a book and talk to a person like Woodward and tell him what they’re saying and observing--and Woodward is obviously a terrific reporter knows how to gather his facts and protect his flanks--so his credibility is very, very high. Some of the evidence comes directly from the president himself.

Excerpts of Woodward's book released this week sent shockwaves through the White House as officials sought to denounce claims that there was internal dysfunction within the Trump administration. The excerpts came the same week as an explosive anonymous op-ed from a 'senior administration official' was published in The New York Times, sparking a firestorm for detailing an internal 'resistance' effort against Trump building in the White House.

The president and his administration have condemned Woodward's and the anonymous op-ed writer's accounts, saying they are riddled with falsities.
