Is European Union collapsing?

However, some research institutes say the bloc will definitely collapse, citing political and social developments in the Green Continent.

According to “Strategischen Vorausschau 2040,” published by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defense, the European Union has seen an erosion in its clout as far-right groups have increased their powers.

Presently, the UK’s exit from the European Union, the entrance of far-right groups to European parliaments, particularly Germany, as well as Catalonia’s secession bid and a divergence between Eastern and Western Europe have painted a gloomy image of Europe’s future.

Marseille, France, was the scene of the biggest congress of far-left figures from across Europe on November 10.

The representative of the French Communist Party announced in the congress that the days of the European Union are numbered, saying the bloc has led to promoting the status of extremist nationalists across the continent.

The far-left figures reiterated that they stood against the policies adopted by European neo-liberal leaders.

They believe such policies have plunged Europe into disarray.

Earlier, European religious and political figures celebrated the 500th anniversary of the year Martin Luther published his 95 Theses.
Among the achievements of Martin Luther were freedom, democracy and justice, which led to the creation of modern Europe.

Nonetheless, these achievements have failed to bring unity for Europeans.
