IRNA chief calls for media cooperation with Tunisia

The full-scale media war waged against Iran is as powerful as the economic sanctions, Managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Zia Hashemi said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Lutfi Al-Arfaoui, director general of the official Tunisian news agency.

There are good grounds for cooperation between Iran and Tunisia, IRNA chief noted.

IRNA chief called for the two countries' cooperation to fight fake news which is spread by the hostile media to sabotage good relations among the Muslims states including Iran and Tunisia.

There is a great deal of propaganda against Iran which is on the contrary with the realities on the ground, Hashemi said.

He pointed to the cooperation agreement signed between IRNA and the Tunisian news agency last year and expressed the hope that its implementation promote the two news agencies cooperation in various fields.
