Hashemi made the remarks in a meeting with deputy head of the State Council of the People's Republic of China for media affairs Gum Min and also China Ambassador to Iran Pang Sen.
He added that in addition to Persian language, IRNA released news in eight foreign languages.
He invited Pung Sen to attend the opening ceremony of the Chinese desk in IRNA.
Regarding the fact that many Chinese audience receive Iran news from Western Media, Hashemi urged Chinese delegation to publish IRNA news directly after launching Chinese desk.
Referring to exchange of six media delegation between Iran and China, he said IRNA has tried to develop activities in multimedia field with China.
Meanwhile, Gu Min who has been invited as special guest to attend 32nd Tehran International Book Fair, said China and Iran are two civilized countries enjoying friendly relations.
Emphasizing the promotion of bilateral relations, he said media cooperation is regarded as an important platform for developing ties in other fields.
Describing IRNA as an important media in Iran, he expressed hope for continuation of cooperation between IRNA and Chinese media namely Xinhua.
The 32nd edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) kicked off at the center of Tehran in the presence of Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, China's minister of culture as well as the cultural representatives of that country.
Cultural Affairs Deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohsen Javadi said on Monday that 2,400 domestic publishers with 3,000 book titles and about 800 foreign publishers with 137,000 titles will showcase their latest publications in this edition of the fair.
