Iraqi politician hails Iran's humanitarian regional policy

Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution has turned into an example to all Islamic countries to defend the Muslims' rights, Seyed Ali Mousavi, a prominent member of Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council, told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Appreciating Tehran's regional stance, Mousavi said Iran is a pioneer in defending the Palestinian cause and liberation of the Holy Quds.

Anyone who wants to deceive others through Iranophobia will not be successful because the realities are well clear for the regional nations, the politician said.

About the remarks made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif that Tehran will defend Riyadh if it is being endangered, the Iraqi official said experience proved that Iran is honest about its promises.

Zarif's remarks nullified the Saudi regime's unfounded claims against Iran and foiled Saudi rulers' Iranophobia plans, Mousavi said.

Elaborating on Tehran's positive efforts in the region, the Iraqi official said that during the four-year battle against the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS ), Iran stood by Iraqis and helped the neighboring country to fight the terrorists although Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein had imposed war against Iran in 1980-88.

Despite some disagreements with others, Iran continues its efforts to strengthen relations with all countries and Islamic nations as well, the Iraqi official said.

He concluded that Saudi Arabia should change its hostile policies on Iran because its animosity will hurt itself first.
