Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, the foreign minister said that 'Iran and India have complimentary economies we can cooperate with each other in all range of areas where we need Indian goods and services and India needs goods and services that we produce in Iran.'
He added 'We have a whole range of options that are open to us.'
Underlining that the US unilateral sanctions have no practical impacts on Iran-India relations, Zarif said 'Iran and India can cooperate further for the benefit of the people of the two countries and the region.'
'In the banking sector we are very happy that both the UCO bank from India and Pasargad bank from Iran are getting started with business,' he reiterated.
In response to a question on Iran, India cooperation in Chabahar port, he said, 'we are open to discussion with India so that they can start investment in Chabahar area including petrochemical we are always open to discussion with India in that area and we welcome proposals from India.'
Zarif heading a high-ranking delegation is in India to participate in Raisina Dialogue.
The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference held in New Delhi annually. Since its inception in 2016, the conference has emerged as India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.
Iranian Foreign Minister is also supposed to deliver speech in a business forum which is underway with the attendance of Iranian and Indian economic activists.
Meeting his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, India's oil minister and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi are on Zarif's itinerary.
