In addition to foreign ministers of the three European states, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will also attend the high-profile meeting.

During the meeting, Tehran will demand practical guarantees from Europe for safeguarding the JCPOA, the same source said.

Next week, Zarif will leave for China and Russia for talks on the future of the JCPOA and then proceed to Belgium.

The meeting comes after US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the JCPOA, a miscalculated move which drew fierce criticism from the European states, international organizations and the UN.
