'We will take advantage of the ridiculous treatment of the Iran nuclear deal by Donald Trump administration to leapfrog our defensive, missile and regional goals,' Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Sunday in an IRGC strategic council meeting.
The meeting reportedly was held today to analyze Trump administration's recent hostile behavior against Iran.
'As mentioned in the past, in case of implementing US new sanction law, the country will have to find a new place for its military bases, 2,000 km away, not to fall into the range of Iranian missiles,' he said.
'If reports on the US decision to enlist Iran's IRGC as a terrorist group happen to be true, the Iranian force would also treat the American Army everywhere in the world and especially in the Middle East in the same way it deals with Daesh (ISIS) terrorists,' he said.
The IRGC commander also said that imposition of new sanctions by the US is going to kill the chances of any future engagements forever.
The new US sanctions tend to reinforce the idea that for Washington, negotiations are leverages to put pressure on others and the means of enmity not tools for more engagements or resolution of issues.
The Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act is a United States federal law that imposed sanctions on Iran, North Korea, and Russia.
The bill was passed during the 115th Congress, 98–2 in the Senate on August 2, 2017.
President Trump signed it into law while issuing two statements simultaneously that he believed the legislation was significantly flawed.
